Staff Spotlight — Meet Dr. Glee-Ann Llemit, OD
Meet Dr. Glee-Ann Llemit: The giving leader of Monocle with a heart of gold and a love for her family, patients, community, fashion, and karaoke.
Dr. Llemit is the owner of Monocle and a licensed therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. She spends her days educating patients on the importance of eye health and helping them select eyewear that reflects their unique personalities. “I love that optometry blends two of my favorite passions—medicine and fashion,” she says.
Every morning, the Monocle team gathers for a quick meeting with Dr. Llemit at the helm to discuss the patients scheduled for that day. “Our days are mostly filled with comprehensive eye exams and, sometimes, emergency eye visits,” she shares.
Besides helping improve her patients’ lives through optometry and helping people select frames that accentuate their appearance, Dr. Llemit genuinely enjoys talking to her patients and getting to know them on a personal level.
“I’m a family-oriented person who is committed to running a family-focused optometry practice. My goal is to build a life-long relationship with every patient."
Dr. Llemit also works closely with the Lions Club—an organization with the mission to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need—in Houston to provide eye care and glasses to underserved communities.
Because of Dr. Llemit’s unwavering dedication to her patients, team, and practice, Monocle has been deservedly featured in publications such as Paper City Magazine Houston, The Scout Guide Houston, and Modern Luxury Magazine.
Outside of work, Dr. Llemit is an avid worldwide traveler. “It’s so fun to explore new cities and immerse yourself in a different culture,” she shares.
But when they’re here in Houston, Dr. Llemit, her husband, and their two children—an eight-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter—live in the West University neighborhood.
They spend their family time outdoors, participating in health and wellness activities, or enjoying a lazy day at home. “There’s also a good chance we’re hosting a party at home with lots of karaoke,” she laughs.
